Basic Research

Basic research is to move forward the fundamental knowledge about human world. It mainly focuses on theories about explanation of world operations to reject or support them i.e. why social relations are a certain way, what make things happen and why society changes. Basic research is the source to deliver the most new scientific ideas and ways of thinking about the world. Most commonly it is explanatory research but it can also be exploratory and descriptive. The new ideas, principles and theories generated by basic research may not be utilized immediately, though it provides foundation for modern progress and development in different fields.

Without pure research in mathematics, the computer of today’s era cannot be exist which may be conducted over a century ago. If a police officer trying to prevent an individual from crime and a counselor for young lawbreaker, we noticed there may be a little relevance to basic research on the question that “Why this abnormal behavior occurs?” Basic research cannot help lawyers with their routine concerns but it can be helpful in thinking about new ideas that can dramatically improve how practitioners have to deal with a problem.

Basic research is not the only to generate new ideas or fundamental knowledge; applied research can also build new knowledge. However for nourishing the expansion of ideas or knowledge basic research is essential.
